NDMS (FEi/Department of Health and Human Services)

Our engagement with the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) began with a focused effort to modernize a legacy federal application that was no longer meeting the operational or security needs of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Working in partnership with FEi, Triskelle was brought in to help assess, reverse engineer, and rebuild critical portions of the platform to meet updated technical, regulatory, and usability standards.

As we demonstrated our ability to manage complexity, navigate strict HIPAA and PHI compliance requirements, and deliver secure, high-quality solutions, our role quickly expanded. Triskelle assumed lead responsibility for several core aspects of the platform’s redevelopment — including data flow redesign, application hardening, and process automation — significantly improving both system security and performance.

A major milestone of our work was the deployment of a scalable, cloud-ready platform that replaced outdated infrastructure while preserving critical business logic and workflows. Although originally intended to support long-term emergency preparedness, the system became a central operational asset during the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling HHS to coordinate medical teams, manage patient tracking, and allocate life-saving resources across the country under urgent conditions.

Triskelle’s contributions helped transform NDMS into a secure, resilient system capable of supporting national-level disaster response. Our work strengthened the technical foundation of the platform and positioned HHS for more responsive, data-driven emergency operations in the future.

Puget Sound Regional Council

Triskelle partnered with the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) to modernize their outdated MS Access system into an updated web application.

Our approach started with understanding their needs – we interviewed staff, observed workflows, and identified what wasn’t working in their existing system. Working closely with stakeholders, we prioritized must-have features and mapped out a vision for the new platform.

This discovery phase produced comprehensive documentation that included business requirements, process workflows, integration plans, and realistic budgets and timelines.

Building on this foundation, we designed and developed the new system. The result is a web-based solution that addresses PSRC’s requirements and supports their project management processes. The result is a web-based solution that addresses PSRC’s requirements and supports their project management processes, replacing outdated manual workflows with modern, automated capabilities.
